So long we’ve waited
For this time,
A baby in these arms of mine,
I pinch myself,
Can’t take it in,
We’ve got a baby girl!
It’s almost too much
To absorb,
As I caress the shining orb
Of her small forehead
Smooth and soft
We’ve got a baby girl!
Her downy hair
Is fair and fine
Her nose, her Dad’s,
Her eyes are mine,
But I don’t care who she looks like,
We’ve got a baby girl!
